Todd Brandt attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and received a B.S. in Biomedical Science in 1991. After graduating from college, he attended The University of Texas Health/Science Center School of Public Health in Houston, Texas, where he received his Ph.D. in Toxicology in 1997. After graduate school, he attended South Texas College of Law in Houston where he earned a J.D. in 2000.

For the past 10 years, Todd has specialized in patent law, including infringement analysis, validity and enforceability of patents, counseling clients on intellectual property enforcement matters, strategy, licensing, and settlement negotiations. His experience also includes all aspects of patent case development, including, pre-filing investigations and counseling, drafting of pleadings, discovery management and disputes, preparation and presentation of fact and expert witnesses at depositions, and preparation of pre-trial dispositive motions. Todd has also acted in a leadership role on a wide range of other intellectual property issues, including trademark prosecution, portfolio management, and trademark litigation as well as copyright and anticounterfeiting disputes.

Datatern, Inc. v. Bank of America Corp., et al. C.A. No. 5-08-CV-00070 (E.D. Tex.) Represented Defendant Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. The case was settled before trial.

Minka Lighting, Inc. v. Hachette Filipacchi Media US, Inc. Opposition Nos. 91167800 and 91170140. Represented Opposer Minka before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and coordinated all aspects of discovery and played a major role in taking the case to trial on the papers. The Board decided the case in Minka's favor.

FPS Investments, LLC v. Seaflex, Inc. d/b/a Flexible Lifelines Systems, Inc. C.A. No. 4:07-CV-01303 (E.D. Mo.) Represented Defendant and had a lead role in conducting discovery and successful motion practice, and assisted preparing the case for trial. The case settled before trial.

QLogic Corp. v. AquaSystems, Inc. C.A. No. 06-CV-1700 (E.D.N.Y) Represented Plaintiff in this trademark/anti-counterfeiting case and assisted in all phases of discovery and preparing the case for trial. The case settled before trial.

Minka Lighting, Inc. v. Maxim Lighting International, Inc., et al. C.A. No. 3:06-CV-0995 (N.D. Tex.) Represented Plaintiff in this patent and copyright litigation and conducted all aspects of discovery, participated in successful summary judgment motion practice, and assisted in preparing the case for trial. The case settled before trial.

Streck Laboratories, Inc. v. Beckman Coulter, Inc. C.A. No. 8:99CV473 (D. Neb.) Represented Plaintiff and had a lead role in conducting discovery, summary judgment motion practice, and assisted at the three-week jury trial. The case settled before jury verdict.
