Mr. Holt has lived most of his life in Longview, Texas, moving here with his family at the age of three. He graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1993.  He graduated from LeTourneau University here in Longview with a B.B.A. in 2000. After graduation, Mr. Holt attended Baylor Law School in Waco, Texas, where he graduated in 2003 with his J.D. While at Baylor, he was a member of the Order of Barristers and served as Executive President of the Baylor Law School Student Bar Association.

After completing law school, Mr. Holt took a position with Potter Minton law firm in Tyler, Texas. While at Potter Minton, Mr. Holt was a member of the transactional section of the firm, specializing in complex business transactions, entity formation and estate planning. It was while at Potter Minton that Mr. Holt developed the skills necessary to proactively counsel his client in their business matters. In addition to transactions, Mr. Holt worked on a number of patent infringement litigation cases while at Potter Minton. Together, transactions and patent infringement litigation form the bulk of Mr. Holt's practice today. In 2006, Mr. Holt left Potter Minton and took the opportunity to return to Longview to work at the law firm of Bunt & Wright. While at Bunt & Wright, Mr. Holt continued to develop his skills in transactions and in litigation.

In 2007, Mr. Holt partnered with Matthew Hill to form the law firm of Hill & Holt, P.L.L.C. in Longview. His primary practice consisted of guiding business owners through purchase and sale transactions, entity formation and the myriad of other issues that present themselves in today's complex business world. Additionally, Mr. Holt regularly advises clients regarding their estate planning needs, regardless of the size of the estate involved. He has also continued to handle litigation matters in state and federal courts throughout Texas, as well as involvement in patent infringement matters in courts around the country.

Mr. Holt served as an associate municipal judge for the City of Longview for three years. He has also volunteered as a Longview Teen Court Judge and as a coach for Spring Hill Dixie Youth Baseball. Mr. Holt also teaches the entity selection and operation portion of the How to Start and Operate a Small Business in East Texas class presented by the Kilgore College Small Business Development Center twice a year at the Kilgore College Longview Center dealing with choosing the proper legal form.  He also lectures on entity formation and operation, as well as many other business topics in the Legal Aspects of Starting Your Business course also through the Kilgore College Small Business Development Center.  In addition, beginning this Fall, Mr. Holt will be teaching the Business Law course for LeTourneau University.

Nothing is more important to Mr. Holt than his family. He is married to Krystal Holt, and they have three children: Alli, Walker and Griffin, in which they each take great pride.  They enjoy traveling as a family and many outdoor activities.
