David P. Henry was born and raised in Tyler, Texas. He attended Woodberry Forrest School in Virginia for high school and later Texas Christian University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a political science degree. Mr. Henry attended Texas Tech School of Law in Lubbock, Texas and served on the Texas Tech Law Review. He was selected to the Order of the Coif and graduated magna cum laude from law school in 2000.
Mr. Henry began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert M. Parker of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. After his clerkship, he worked in the commercial litigation section at Vinson & Elkins, LLP in Dallas, where he handled a wide variety of complex commercial cases in courts throughout the nation, including nationwide class actions, fiduciary disputes, and professional malpractice suits. He returned to East Texas in 2007 to join Coghlan Crowson, LLP in Longview, where he focused primarily on oil and gas law. In 2009, he formed The Henry Firm, P.C., and in 2010 he joined Stevens Love as a partner.
Mr. Henry is licensed to practice in Texas and is admitted to the federal courts for the Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of Texas. He is also admitted in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
David is married to Claire Abernathy Henry, who is also an attorney. Claire and David are the proud parents of Eloise Anne Henry.
